HOW OUR SPECIALISTS ASSIST OUR COACHES
At any point during an athlete’s time on the 3DMJ roster, a specific issue may arise that is outside of a typical coach’s scope of practice.
This may include dietary allergies, new medical diagnoses, binge episodes, depression, broken bones, surgeries, or any other occurence that would be cause for our coaches to seek professional advice on how to best-serve the athlete.
As soon as these various concerns come up, our coach has unlimited access to our specialists who are always just a quick message away.
The coach will first reach out to the specialist on their athlete’s behalf to discuss the best game plan going forth.
The specialist may reply one of three ways:
1) The specialist has enough information to confidently provide the coach with some advice on how to modify the athlete’s protocol going forth.
2) The specialist feels they need more information in order to properly address the situation. In which case, they will ask the the coach to begin a 3-person email discussion for some more specific Q&A conversations to occur between the specialist, coach, and athlete until the specialist is comfortable making a recommendation.
3) The specialist has enough information to confidently determine that the athlete needs professional help outside of the coach’s scope of practice.
WHAT IF I NEED TO HIRE A SPECIALIST?
It’s possible that our team’s specialist may recommend, but not require that an athlete gets external help.
At that point, it would be the athlete’s choice on how to proceed at their own expense.
Other times, our coach or specialist may deem it irresponsible for 3DMJ to work an athlete unless they are also working with a professional in a specific area of concern.
If this is the case and our team requires an athlete to hire a professional, it will be at the athlete’s expense.
All three of our specialists have their own private practices and do online private consulting. We would love if all of our athletes chose to work with them.
However, we do not require it.
Athletes are free to hire professionals of their own choosing and at their own expense.
This actually might be ideal in certain scenarios due to location, insurance coverage, or the athlete’s personal preference.
CAN I HIRE A 3DMJ SPECIALIST IF I AM NOT A 3DMJ ATHLETE?
Of course!
Steve, Amanda, and Nick each have their own individual online practices, and do most of their work outside of the 3DMJ system.
However, they have all worked with our team personally and professionally for years and we cannot recommend them highly enough.
Most importantly, these specialists are all lifters and are current or former physique athletes.
They are intimately familiar with our athlete’s lifestyles and typical challenges, as they have all been there themselves.
We consider them family and trust them with our own personal and athletic health quite often.
HOW DO I START WORKING WITH 3DMJ SPECIALIST?
** If you’re already on our roster of athletes, simply let your coach know you’d like to discuss getting external help from Steve, Amanda, or Nick.
** If you are not a 3DMJ athlete, you can simply reach out them at their respective websites or email addresses here.
Keep in mind, nothing has to be “wrong” in order to get professional assistance in any of these domains.
Perhaps you would like to discuss strategies on how to eat more vegetables or how to improve your digestion with Steve. Maybe you’d like ongoing therapy with Amanda to help improve your relationships or confidence in certain areas of life. Or it could be that you’d like to schedule a call with Nick to create a specific morning mobility routine to combat the low back stiffness that sets in through your work day.
Whatever the reason, our specialists are here to help.
