The last few blogs I’ve touched a lot on the importance of context, not looking at the sport as a black and white endeavor, and ensuring you utilize an arsenal of tools to continually progress along your journey. I’m staying true to this theme again and I’m going to make a series out of it! This past week one of my rostered athletes noticed that I performed a HIIT (high intensity interval training) session last Saturday which is definitely not a regular part of my prep protocols. His curiosity sparked a question for him, “I noticed you did HIIT as one of your tools, is that because you’re getting towards that low end and you want to shed those last couple of pounds? What’s your reasoning behind that?” Like all my rostered athletes, I responded to his weekly report/questions with an audio response where I gave him plenty of context and the reasoning behind the HIIT session to help him understand my decision making. So, I figured why not turn that question into a video to potentially help you in some way with your journey. Of course, like I’ve mentioned in my last blog, when watching the video below make sure to keep in mind this is about my journey, so remember you have your own context and tools to work with. Hope you enjoy!
